Embroidery Art
Bríd O’Kane is a Limerick based contemporary embroidery artist. I describe my work as ‘drawing with thread on canvas’.
My work has evolved from a love of the simple sewing machine and a desire to create something unique.
The technique of freestyle machine embroidery is a modern take on a traditional craft. It involves using a basic sewing machine. Layering paints and fabrics to create the finished artwork. It is a fun craft which involves playing with different mediums and reflects the personality of the artist.
Where possible recycled material is used to reduce environmental impact. All products are designed and handcrafted in Ireland.
